Cort Bengtson

After getting an early start with charcoal drawings of choppers and funny cars of the 60's and 70's, I studied oil painting under the guidance of Jean Fitzhenry where I learned color, composition, and fine art. Throw in some college studies, some rock and roll, bronze work,a few not so great jobs,water colors and air brushing jean jackets in the 80's, tattooing took hold in the 90's.I was lucky enough to serve an apprenticeship under John Donohue at Cliffs tattoo where I stayed for 5 years.There John taught me all the basic,showed me how to pack in color and then some.

In 1999 I opened Corts Royal Ink Tattoo Studio. Here I have tattooed more great people than I ever could have imagined. From bikers to school teachers to bio chemists, the public has showed me just how diverse todays culture has become .. In 2001 my second company "Royal Flash" was born. It produces tattoo flash and prints that have been sold world wide including 10 countries and all 50 states.

The journey has led me to help clients realize their dreams and express themselves in a way no other canvas can. In the future I hope to explore more ploynesian,American traditional, and Japanese inspired designs.
